The Person Behind Paw Smart Habits
Hi, I’m Hans-Robert —
I translate behavior science and real-life dog ownership into practical systems that busy owners can actually follow.
For some, dogs are a hobby. For me, they’ve been a lifelong study. I haven’t spent my years in a classroom; I’ve spent them at the other end of a leash, learning from four incredible teachers who shaped my life one chapter at a time.
Four Dogs, One Lifelong Journey
My journey wasn’t about having a pack of four at once. It was a decades-long evolution, from my first Bernese Mountain Dog to my current Golden Retriever female. Each dog arrived at a different chapter, and each one taught me something the previous one couldn’t. They were my „field research.“
The Psychology of the Leash
Beyond the dog park, I’ve always been fascinated by human psychology. The most important lesson I’ve learned? Habit is the engine of life.
Science tells us that over 50% of everything we do is governed by habits. We operate on autopilot. This is where most dog training fails: it focuses only on the dog’s „tricks“ while ignoring the human’s routines.
My Philosophy: If the Human Changes, the Dog Follows.
I realized that „bad behavior“ in dogs is often just a reflection of the habits we—the handlers—have built (or missed). At „Paw Smart Habits,“ I don’t just look at the dog. I look at the „human end of the leash.“
We don’t do drills; we build systems.
We don’t use force; we use consistency.
We don’t train for an hour; we change how we live every minute.
I’ve spent years studying international experts and behavioral science to filter out what actually works for ambitious dog owners who want a great life, not a circus act. I’m here to share those „Success Habits“ with you. Not as a lecturer, but as a fellow enthusiast who knows that the secret to a great dog starts with a smart human.
